Superior DOTP (Dioctyl Terephthalate) is a premium-grade, non-phthalate plasticizer specifically engineered for high-performance PVC applications. With its exceptional electrical insulation properties (volume resistance ≥2×10¹² Ω·cm) and outstanding low-temperature flexibility, it is the preferred choice for PVC wire and cable insulation, medical gloves, and food-contact applications. Unlike traditional DOP, DOTP offers superior thermal stability, lower volatility, and excellent resistance to migration, making it an environmentally friendly alternative that meets stringent international regulations including REACH and RoHS. Our Superior DOTP achieves ≥98% purity with flash point ≥210°C, ensuring consistent processing performance and long-term product durability.
Application Details
In PVC wire and cable applications, Superior DOTP provides unmatched volume resistivity (≥2×10¹² Ω·cm), ensuring reliable electrical insulation even under high-voltage conditions. For film and sheet production, its low volatility minimizes weight loss during processing, resulting in dimensionally stable products. In synthetic leather manufacturing, DOTP delivers excellent hand-feel and flexibility at temperatures as low as -30°C. Medical and household gloves benefit from DOTP's non-toxic, non-phthalate chemistry, meeting FDA and EU food-contact regulations for safe direct skin contact.

DOTP vs DOP: DOTP is a terephthalate ester while DOP is an ortho-phthalate ester — structurally different molecules with distinct performance profiles. DOTP offers superior electrical insulation (2-3× higher volume resistance), better low-temperature flexibility, and lower volatility. DOTP is REACH-compliant and non-restricted, while DOP faces increasing regulatory restrictions in EU and North America. DOTP has slightly higher processing viscosity than DOP, requiring minor formulation adjustments.
