DOTP & Plasticizer FAQ

DOTP (Dioctyl Terephthalate, CAS 6422-86-2) is a primary non-phthalate plasticizer manufactured by Shandong Changxing with 300,000 tons annual capacity. It is used extensively in PVC wire and cable insulation, flooring, film, synthetic leather, and automotive interiors. DOTP provides excellent electrical insulation, low volatility, and superior heat aging resistance compared to traditional phthalate plasticizers like DOP.

DOTP is a non-phthalate (terephthalate-based) plasticizer, while DOP is a phthalate-based plasticizer. Key differences: (1) DOTP is environmentally preferred and REACH-compliant; (2) DOTP has lower volatility and better heat aging; (3) DOTP provides superior electrical insulation for wire and cable applications; (4) DOTP has lower migration rates, making it more durable. DOTP is increasingly replacing DOP in export markets due to stricter phthalate regulations (EU REACH, US CPSIA).

Our Superior DOTP has a purity of ≥99.5% with ester content ≥99.0% and acid value ≤0.02 mg KOH/g. Our Qualified DOTP has purity ≥99.0% for cost-sensitive applications. All products undergo rigorous quality control under ISO 9001 certification.

Our DOTP is a non-phthalate plasticizer with excellent toxicological profile. It has passed SGS testing for 17 restricted phthalate substances and EN 71-3 heavy metals. DCP (Di-sec-octyl Phthalate, CAS 117-81-7) is a phthalate-based plasticizer used in PVC flexible products, rubber processing, sealants, and adhesives. It provides good compatibility with PVC resins and offers effective plasticizing performance at competitive cost. Shandong Changxing manufactures high-purity DCP with quality control under ISO 9001 standards.

DCP (Di-sec-octyl Phthalate) and DOP (Dioctyl Phthalate) are both phthalate plasticizers. DCP has a branched alkyl chain structure (sec-octyl vs n-octyl), giving it slightly different solvating properties. Both serve similar applications in PVC processing, but DCP may offer better low-temperature flexibility in certain formulations.

2-Octanol (CAS 123-96-6) is a high-purity chemical intermediate primarily used in: (1) Plasticizer production (DOTP and other esters), (2) Surfactant and detergent manufacturing, (3) Solvent for coatings and inks, (4) Fragrance and flavor intermediates, (5) Pharmaceutical synthesis. Shandong Changxing supplies 2-Octanol with purity ≥99.5%.

Our 2-Octanol has a purity of ≥99.5%, making it suitable for demanding chemical synthesis applications. It is manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management with full traceability.

2-Octanol is available in: 200L steel drums (170kg net), 1000L IBC totes, and ISO tank containers for bulk orders. Standard export packaging with UN-approved containers.

MEG (Ethylene Glycol, CAS 107-21-1) is used in: (1) Polyester fiber and PET resin production (primary use), (2) Automotive antifreeze and coolant formulations, (3) Chemical intermediate for resins and plasticizers, (4) Deicing fluids for aircraft and runways, (5) Heat transfer fluids. Shandong Changxing supplies ultra-high purity MEG (99.9%).

Our MEG is ultra-high purity at ≥99.9%, suitable for polyester-grade applications. It meets the stringent quality requirements for PET resin and polyester fiber production. Standard industrial-grade MEG is also available for antifreeze and deicing applications.
