Superior DOTP (Dioctyl Terephthalate) is a premium-grade, non-phthalate plasticizer specifically engineered for high-performance PVC applications. With its exceptional electrical insulation properties (volume resistance ≥2×10¹² Ω·cm) and outstanding low-temperature flexibility, it is the preferred choice for PVC wire and cable insulation, medical gloves, and food-contact applications. Unlike traditional DOP, DOTP offers superior thermal stability, lower volatility, and excellent resistance to migration, making it an environmentally friendly alternative that meets stringent international regulations including REACH and RoHS. Our Superior DOTP achieves ≥98% purity with flash point ≥210°C, ensuring consistent processing performance and long-term product durability.

One batch, one specification — pick your downstream process for grade advice.
Film and sheet need clarity, flexibility and weather resistance, and the plasticizer has to stay in the film so the sheet keeps its dimensions. Film thickness and the end use fix which grade fits, and both are agreed before the first drum is packed.
Coated fabric for furniture upholstery and automotive interiors needs a soft hand feel plus resistance to abrasion and flex fatigue. The plasticizer has to stay in the coating instead of migrating into the backcloth, so the hand feel holds over time.
Soles and upper materials need abrasion resistance and flex crack resistance, and thin parts lose softness fastest once plasticizer migrates. Target hardness and the buyer's flex test set the grade, and the sample is moulded to both.
Glove film has to stay pinhole-free at low thickness, so the plastisol needs a plasticizer with low volatility and a viscosity that holds through the dip. Consistent viscosity across batches is what holds the film thickness inside tolerance.
Household gloves are dipped from PVC plastisol, and the plasticizer sets both the hand feel and how much softener comes to the surface. We match the grade to the target hand feel and to the filler loading on the line.
Building wire and power cable insulation is the volume use: the Superior specification keeps volume resistance high after accelerated aging so signal-pair capacitance stays in tolerance for communication and low-voltage cable. When converting a line from DEHP or DINP, start from the current loading and add 2-5 phr to compensate for DOTP's slightly lower plasticizing efficiency, then confirm tensile strength, elongation, hot-set and insulation resistance in a lab trial before switching production.
Building and power cable insulation is the volume use for DOTP. Volume resistance ≥2×10¹² Ω·cm and low volatility keep dielectric loss stable across the service temperature window, and the non-phthalate terephthalate chemistry satisfies cable compounds shipped into REACH-restricted markets. Typical insulation loading runs 45-60 phr, with sheath compounds at 50-65 phr.

For communication and low-voltage cable, the same Superior DOTP keeps insulation resistance high after accelerated aging, so signal-pair capacitance stays in tolerance. Flame-retardant packages built on the terephthalate chemistry are evaluated against IEC 60332 and UL 94 for building-wire and riser grades.

No. It is the same product — the same batches, the same specification (CAS 6422-86-2). This page recommends our Superior DOTP for PVC wire and cable compounds and gathers the electrical data cable makers ask for. There is no separate formulation, and no separate TDS or COA.
DOTP is a terephthalate ester, not an ortho-phthalate. It is not restricted under EU REACH Annex XVII entry 51, is not classified as a CMR substance, and is not listed under California Proposition 65. Volume resistance ≥2×10¹² Ω·cm keeps dielectric performance stable for building wire, power cable and communication cable.
Insulation compounds typically run 45-60 phr and sheath compounds 50-65 phr, depending on the target flexibility and the filler loading. When converting from DEHP or DINP, start at your current loading and confirm tensile strength, elongation, hot-set and insulation resistance in a lab trial before full production.
