Product description

Superior DOTP (Dioctyl Terephthalate) is a premium-grade, non-phthalate plasticizer specifically engineered for high-performance PVC applications. With its exceptional electrical insulation properties (volume resistance ≥2×10¹² Ω·cm) and outstanding low-temperature flexibility, it is the preferred choice for PVC wire and cable insulation, medical gloves, and food-contact applications. Unlike traditional DOP, DOTP offers superior thermal stability, lower volatility, and excellent resistance to migration, making it an environmentally friendly alternative that meets stringent international regulations including REACH and RoHS. Our Superior DOTP achieves ≥98% purity with flash point ≥210°C, ensuring consistent processing performance and long-term product durability.

FAQ — DOTP for PVC Gloves

Is Superior DOTP for PVC Gloves a different grade from Superior DOTP?

No. It is the same product — the same batches, the same specification (CAS 6422-86-2). This page recommends our Superior DOTP for PVC glove production and gathers the application data glove manufacturers ask for. There is no separate formulation, and no separate TDS or COA.

Why do glove producers choose DOTP instead of DEHP?

DOTP is a terephthalate ester, not an ortho-phthalate. It is not restricted under EU REACH Annex XVII entry 51 (which caps DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP at 0.1% in consumer articles such as gloves), is not classified as a CMR substance, and is not listed under California Proposition 65. Migration is verified per batch: ask for the ISO 177 or HG/T 4454 report (mass change) that matches the shipped lot rather than relying on generic figures.

How much DOTP does a PVC glove formulation use?

Across the 45-70 phr range depending on glove type and target softness: household and dishwashing gloves 45-65 phr, disposable medical examination gloves 55-70 phr, industrial and chemical-protective gloves around 60-70 phr. When switching from DEHP or DINP, start at your current loading and confirm hardness, tensile strength, elongation and pinhole rate in a lab trial before full production.

What compliance documents are available?

The same document set as our Superior DOTP: COA, MSDS, REACH and RoHS statements, SGS reports covering 17 phthalates, EN 71-3 toy safety and PFAS screening, plus a carbon footprint report. Downloads are listed on the Superior DOTP product page.

What is the minimum order and how is it packed?

Production volumes ship from one 20ft container: 16 MT in plastic or iron drums, 20 MT in IBC tanks, 23 MT in flexibag or ISO tank. For trials, 200L drums and 1000L IBC totes are available. Every batch ships with full traceability documentation.
